Increase the Impact of Your Generosity

Seven Ways to Increase the Impact of Your Generosity

By establishing a fund with the Rocky Mountain Community Foundation, your charitable dollar will be stretched because we offer you:

1.      Tax advantages. Since we are a public charity, our donors qualify for the most advantageous tax benefits including gifts of cash and other assets such as stock, bonds, and real estate.

2.      Recognition. You may name your fund after yourself or your family, in honor of another individual or cause, or to throw a spotlight on an issue that is important to you. All grants from your fund will be made in the name of the fund you have established, unless you choose to make your grants anonymously.

3.      Accountability and instant, up-to-date information. In addition to printed quarterly statements, when you establish your account we will provide you with 24-hour, secure access to information about your fund.

4.      A simplified, confidential way to give. By making your charitable gifts to the Rocky Mountain Community Foundation and then distributing grants out of that fund to any qualified charity in the U.S., you can vastly simplify the administrative chores associated with your philanthropy. We also provide all the reports you need for your tax return.

5.      Stewardship. The Rocky Mountain Community Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors who are respected community leaders. Members of the Board work closely with a strong and capable staff to ensure that assets entrusted to the Foundation are used properly, and managed by an experienced investment committee.

6.      Personalized Service. We work with every donor individually to ensure that you are able to accomplish your specific philanthropic goals ... what you want to give, how you want to give, and when you want to give.

7.      Continuity. When you establish your fund, you may include children, grandchildren or others in grant making decisions both during and after your lifetime. At the same time, if you ever need support in making philanthropic decisions, the Community Foundation's Board of Directors can fulfill that role, honoring your charitable interests and priorities.
